How Kristin Cavallari Ditched Diets And Cardio — And Looks Better Than Ever

It's made her so much happier, too.
It's hard to believe it's been 10 years since Kristin Cavallari's Laguna Beach days. The reality TV star turned fashion designer turned cookbook author has stayed in incredible shape, and she says doing so has been no sweat — literally.

Cavallari recently spilled to Well + Good that she's become more a fan of circuit training than cardio. "I don't do any cardio," the mom of three admitted. Her reasoning: "Cardio used to be all I did before I had kids, but once I had them my lifestyle changed," Cavallari said. "I'm a much healthier eater, and I hardly drink alcohol, so I've found that it's about building and maintaining muscle rather than losing weight now."

She relies on weightlifting moves that she's learned from working out with a trainer for years, and she squeezes the workouts in once her nanny comes in the morning. Her routine sounds insanely doable, since cardio sessions tend to take up the biggest chunk of time, but Cavallari's approach to food sounds even more like music to our ears: "I haven't been on a diet in five years," she shared. That doesn't mean she's pigging out on candy and all things deep-fried. Cavallari keeps all her meals relatively healthy, but she doesn't follow the restrictive rules that many diets set — and the whole thing's made her feel better physically and mentally.
She's big on bunless burgers, enchiladas with a side salad, or roasted salmon and vegetables. For the most part, Cavallari avoids all-purpose flour and white sugar. "I'm not eating gluten free, but I try to avoid refined wheat products since they've been shown to spike blood sugar levels faster than some candy bars," she's said.
Earlier this week, Cavallari even snapped back at some Instagram followers who called her out for fat-shaming herself in a post. She'd captioned it, "Feeling it until I see the pic and see my crazy arm. Maybe next time I shouldn't lean so hard 😂 ." When someone criticized her phrasing, she responded: "How you interpret my words has nothing to do with me or what I actually meant."
