The November issue of Vogue isn’t the only place you’ll find Gigi Hadid this month: The model was just announced as a star of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, filming in New York on November 10. Despite being one of fashion’s sexiest models, Hadid hasn’t walked in the Victoria’s Secret show before, though she has appeared in several of the brand’s catalogs promoting VS Pink.
The news was announced in a video posted to the brand’s Instagram last night. In the clip, Hadid does her best strut for the brand’s casting directors, who coyly reveal she’s been cast in the show. Upon hearing the news, Hadid breaks down in tears. In an Instagram post of her own, she wrote, “Couldn’t keep back my tears!!!! Anyone that grew up with me knows that getting this show has been a dream of mine forever!”
Hadid’s inclusion in the show also fuels speculation that her sister, Bella, may be cast as a model this year. Rumors of the younger Hadid’s involvement in the show were sparked when her boyfriend, The Weeknd, was announced as a performer at this year’s event. The show airs on CBS on December 8.
