ADELE IS OFFICIALLY THE RICHEST FEMALE BRITISH MUSICIAN EVER

Another record, broken.

If there's anything Adele is great at besides writing music and making us cry, it's breaking records. The artist—who boasts the record for most albums sold in a week and took home four Brit Awards earlier this year—just claimed another impressive title: richest British female musician of all time.
Adele's career earnings totaled to $122 million, The Sunday Times revealed yesterday in its annual Rich List, which ranks Britain's wealthiest people and families. The singer's massive income includes the $50 million she raked in just his past year from her album sales and ongoing tour. She tops the Young Music Rich List of musicians aged 30 and under, for the fifth year in a row, trumping Ellie Goulding, Ed Sheeran and One Direction.
In the overall music rankings, Adele fell to the 30th slot behind legendary male musicians, such as the top three: Paul McCartney ($1.092 billion combined with his wife Nancy Shevell), Andrew Lloyd Weber ($1.027 billion) and U2 ($718 million combined). But she did beat out other big-name acts like Kylie Minogue and Chris Martin. She is one of three women listed as solo acts on the overall musicians list, according to BBC
Sunday Times Rich List editor Ian Coxon suspects that in a couple years, she could make it on the main list, which is currently dominated by property and industry-owning families. Considering she's only 27 years old and already making as much as music legends who are now in their fifties or older, Adele has a promising future ahead—but we didn't need to see the numbers to know that.
The Sunday Times publishes its full list this Sunday.
