You have to see the sweet announcement on Ellen's show.
After years of
speculation, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are finally adding a
kid to their family. Just not in the way you're expecting.
Ellen, "The Queen of Hollywood Real Estate"
herself, announced on her eponymous talk show that she and de Rossi
recently added a new puppy to their family. And instead of giving the
dog a classic pet name like Fido or Fluffy, they decided to play a trick
on us all and name their pup Kid.
DeGeneres
even told viewers that taking care of the new puppy has opened her eyes
to the stresses of having children. "It really makes me appreciate what
it's like to be a mother," she said. "Because like I'm trying to hold a
puppy while I'm trying to make coffee. And I can't do anything. He
doesn't let me do anything."
None of this means DeGeneres and de Rossi are considering becoming mothers though. As E! Online reports, the comedian made it clear in her 2011 book "Seriously...I'm Kidding" that kids just aren't in the cards.
"We
thought about it. We love to be around children after they've been fed
and bathed. But we ultimately decided that we don't want children of our
own," she explained.
The
duo undoubtedly have their hands full taking care of Kid and their
other dogs, Auggie and Wolf. (Perhaps you want to call on your tenant Nick Jonas for help dog-sitting, ED?)
