So does this mean no more $2,000 ripped sweaters?
After Yeezy Season1 first
hit the market (and sold out immediately), much talk arose about the
collection's unattainability due to incredibly steep prices. The debut
collection included pieces like a $2,600 sweater, $1,170 sweatpants and a $405 thermal.
Compared to the first collection, Season 2's prices were a bit less shocking: the most expensive item, in both the men's and women's
sections combined, was a raglan trench selling for $1,245. This
collection, however, has yet to hit stores—but that might change for
Yeezy Season 3.
On Monday, a TMZ
cameraman approached the rapper-turned-designer at LAX and
commented, "You really gotta lower the prices of your clothes, man. I
really wanna wear them, but they're too expensive for me."
"Yeah. We're gonna get them lower," Kanye responded. Really?
"Next season," he added.
Kanye
leaves us with a slight glimmer of hope, but there are still unanswered
questions surrounding how big the price cut will actually be and when
the following collection will show during fashion week, if at all.
